The Four Horsemen: Amazon/Apple/Facebook & Google

The dominance of Amazon, Google, Facebook and Apple will strike everything seen before 2015 and shift the whole economic landscape. Check out this brilliant and insightful talk by Scott Galloway of NYU Stern on GAFA (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon).

I find this really interesting and well executed. Mailmen is a website, by Royal Mail, designed to demonstrate to the advertising industry the continued effectiveness of postal elements as part of a wider ad campaign. There are many big names of the UK advertising industry along with case histories and interesting stats.

Be more human

Reebok ran “Freak Show” as their 2015 Super Bowl commercial, the latest in their “Be More Human” advertising campaign. “Freak Show” is a celebration of those who have chosen to be more than they thought they could be through fitness. It is a challenge to all viewers to “Be More Human.” The Be More Human campaign, online at reebok.com/BeMoreHuman, includes other commercials (“Dig Deep!” “Honor Your Body!”), a “Human Score” video (presenting a test “designed to distill our humanness to a numeric value”), and the “Be More Human Online Experience,” a cross-channel platform loaded with tools, information and activities.

Creativity in a constrained world

"Creative work increasingly requires more with less. Instead of resisting limitations, what if we put them to good use for our agencies and clients? For the second Firestarters event in New York City (NYC), we brought together smart thinkers from inside and outside the ad world to share how they framed their creative constraints and turned them into advantages."
Good write up from Ben Malbon of the second NYC Google Firestarters event on creativity in a constrained world.

The Internet of useless things

I couldn't resist to mention this one: a funny collection of invented products which take advantage of trendy internet of things tech.
